April 27, 2009 - Federal immigration law offers permanent residency to foreigners who make large investments in U.S. companies. This program offers U.S. businesses increased access to foreign capital. In order to participate under certain less stringent conditions, companies must apply to U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services for a special designation.
On behalf of a major commercial real estate developer, Lim Ruger applied to participate in this special immigrant investor program. Lim Ruger’s client, M&D Regional Center, LLC, will invest in a real estate development project located in Buena Park, California, which will feature an upscale retail center, a luxury hotel, luxury condominiums, and an office building. Our firm teamed up with immigration counsel Miller Mayer for the application. Lim Ruger attorneys John Lim, Richard Kim, and Paul Kim prepared the corporate and securities offering documents for the application.
