Richard Kim is a partner in the transactions group. Mr. Kim has substantial experience in corporate and tax matters involving limited liability company formation and restructuring, corporate mergers and acquisitions, private equity and venture capital investments, and aircraft sale and financing transactions. His experience covers a wide range of industry sectors including technology, manufacturing, entertainment, media, telecommunications, and gaming.

Mr. Kim has advised start-up and development stage companies in connection with private financing transactions and mergers and acquisitions. He has represented public companies in connection with their initial public offerings and public and private companies in mergers and acquisitions transactions. He has counseled private equity and venture capital firms in connection with their investments in technology and media companies. Mr. Kim’s transactional experience also includes negotiating and documenting joint ventures and restructuring such ventures.

Mr. Kim also has represented corporate and individual taxpayers in Federal and California tax controversy matters and has advised businesses and individuals on tax planning matters. He has obtained private letter rulings from the Internal Revenue Service and the Franchise Tax Board on behalf of clients on tax matters.

Prior to attending law school, Mr. Kim worked at Price Waterhouse (now PricewaterhouseCoopers) in its audit and tax departments.
